글꼴에만 평생을 바친 최정호의 삶과 작업을 소개한 책이다.
먼저 ‘최정호의 삶’에서는 그의 삶을 하나하나 추적해 그를 기억하는 여러 사람의 목소리로 되돌아본다. 다음으로 ‘최정호의 한글꼴’에서 노은유의 박사논문을 바탕으로 최정호가 한국과 일본을 오가며 디자인한 수많은 글꼴을 체계적이고 논리적으로 분석했다. 또한 오늘날 명조체와 고딕체 계열 글꼴과 최정호가 디자인한 글꼴이 어떻게 이어져 왔는지 그 계보를 그렸다. 책의 마지막에는 최정호의 기고글, 작업 사진은 물론 그동안 공개된 적이 없는 글꼴의 원도(原圖)를 생생하게 보여주었다.

This book is about Choi Jeong-ho, a man who devoted his life to letters and type. First, “His Life” investigates his life and listens to the many people who knew him. Next, “The Letters of Choi Jeong-ho” is a systematic and logical examination of the typefaces designed by Choi Jeong-ho in both Korea and Japan. Also, a timeline of how Myeongjo and Gothic was continued with the typefaces designed by Choi. The book concludes with writings, photographs and never before seen original drawings of typefaces.
