‘노타입’은 글꼴 디자인 스튜디오이다. 한글과 타이포그래피에 대한 심도 깊은 연구와 실험을 기반으로 하여 글꼴을 만든다. 2018년 노은유가 설립했으며 현재 이주희가 합류했다. 한국, 서울에 위치한다.

NohType is a type design foundry specializing in Hangul (Korean script). We create typefaces based on in-depth research and experimentation. Founded by Eunyou Noh in 2018 and joined by Joohee Lee in 2020, the foundry is located in Seoul, South Korea.

글꼴 디자이너이자 연구자이다. 홍익대학교 시각디자인과를 졸업하고 같은 대학원에서 2008년 ‘일본어 음성 표기를 위한 한글 표기 체제 연구’로 석사 학위를, 2011년 ‘최정호 한글꼴의 형태적 특징과 계보 연구’로 박사 학위를 받았다. 2014년 박사 학위 논문을 바탕으로 «한글 디자이너 최정호»를 집필했다.
        2012년부터 2015년까지 안그라픽스 타이포그라피연구소에서 책임연구원으로 아모레퍼시픽의 ‘아리따체’, 대한불교조계종의 ‘석보체’ 등의 프로젝트 매니저를 맡아 진행했다. 2017년 네덜란드 헤이그 왕립예술학교에서 라틴 디자인을 수학했다. 현재 이화여자대학교, 건국대학교 겸임 교수로서 학생들에게 타이포그래피를 가르치고 있다. 2018년부터 ‘노타입’을 설립하여«옵티크»와 «소리체»를 출시했다.
Eunyou Noh
Principal, Typeface designer, Researcher (PhD)



Eunyou Noh is a type designer and researcher from South Korea. She earned her BFA, MFA (Hangul Writing Standards for Japanese Phonetic Writing, 2008) and PhD (Characteristics and Lineage of Hangul Letterforms Designed by Choi Jeong-ho, 2011) in Hangul Type Design at Hongik University. In 2014, she published «Choi Jeong-ho’s Hangul Type Design» based on her PhD thesis. 
      From 2012 to 2015, she was a senior researcher at AG Typography Institute and led projects for Amore Pacific (Arita), and the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism (Seokbochae). In 2017, she studied Latin type design at the Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague (KABK). Currently, she is adjunct professor at Ewha Womans University and Konkuk University teaching typography. In 2018, she opened NohType and released «Optique» (2019) and «Sori» (2020).

이화여자대학교 시각디자인전공을 졸업했다. 교내 타이포그래피 소모임 ‘꽃’과 대학생 한글 타이포그래피 연합회 ‘한울’에서 활동했다. 현재 노타입(NohType)의 글꼴 디자이너로서 «소리체»(2020) 제작에 참여했다.

Type Designer



A graduate of Ewha Womans University, Visual Communication Design, she was a member of Kkot 꽃, an on-campus typography group, as well as Hanul, an inter-school Hangul typography group. She is currently a type designer at NohType, and was involved with the design of «Sori» (2020).
