«글립스 타입 디자인»은 손수 글꼴을 만들고 싶어 하는 이들을 위한 국내 최초의 글립스(Glyphs) 기반 한글·라틴 타입 디자인 입문서이자 실전 매뉴얼이다. 현존하는 프로그램 중 가장 한글 친화적인 폰트 제작 도구인 ‘글립스’를 활용해, 아이디어 스케치부터 최종 폰트 파일 포맷 생성까지의 전 과정을 단계별로 상세히 다룬다.
저자인 노은유와 함민주는 글립스 프로그램의 한글화 작업을 함께 진행했으며, 특히 함민주 디자이너가 개발자 게오르크 자이페르트(Georg Seifert)와 협업하여 한글 맞춤형 기능인 ‘한글 조합 그룹’ 개발에 직접 참여한 생생한 경험을 바탕으로 이 책을 집필했다. 책은 유기적으로 연결된 총 3권의 분권 및 스프링 제본 형태로 구성되어, 작업대 위에 나란히 펼쳐놓고 실무에 참조할 수 있도록 시각적·기능적 편의성을 높였다.

«Glyphs Type Design» is the first comprehensive guidebook and practical manual in South Korea dedicated to Hangul and Latin type design using Glyphs. Driven by the most Hangul-friendly font editor available, the book guides readers step-by-step through the entire typeface creation process—from initial idea sketches to final font file generation.
The authors, Eunyou Noh and Minju Ham, jointly worked on the Korean localization of the Glyphs software. Furthermore, Minju Ham brought her firsthand expertise to this volume from collaborating directly with developer Georg Seifert to create the software's specialized 'Hangul Composition Groups'. The publication is thoughtfully structured into three separate volumes, allowing designers to lay them flat side-by-side on their desks for a seamless workflow.
